| Post subject: | Fly/Release/Flying Mount |
I was out flying around in the Air beyond our SK half-a-disc with someone on a flying mount. I then cast fly on her, because we were thinking the mount might get left behind. It didn't. But when I released my fly spell on her, even though she was on a flying mount, she plummeted to her death, losing her entire kit. Seems like she should have just landed back on her flying mount. Is this a bug? Peace, Bux |

I think you misunderstood. His friend's horse was flying. He cast fly on his friend. Then released it, and she plummeted to her death, despite being mounted on a pet that was flying. |

I understood that after I reread the post, which is why I deleted my previous one in the hopes that it hadn't been spotted yet. EDIT: I've been trying to duplicate this for the past few minutes - Using the exact same conditions, the pc I tested it with landed back onto the already flying mount, and did not plummet to the earth. So right now, I'd say at some point that the mount stopped flying. EDIT2: Unfortunately for the PC, when I attempted to transfer the pc away from the room with the pc's flying mount in the middle of nowhere, it DID kill her and her kit. Oops. |

Hmmm. Well, it was a flying white dragon, not being spelled up in any way, that I'm aware. She was mounted on the dragon, as far as I know, and then I cast fly on her, and almost immediately released it, when I realized we weren't going to need it. Then she disappeared, with her stuff. It's possible I missed some detail of it, so if you can't reproduce it, I'll take your word for it. But I don't think I'll try to test it again myself! Peace, Bux |

I'm curious if the flying beasts were race-based fliers or the type that have been 'tweaked' to start out flying but can't be made to fly again once they land. Might be related. |
