Post subject: | cleave recharge |
Pattern: I cleave an an enemy, kill it, leave the area, sleep for a few ticks, and re-enter the area. I try to cleave an enemy, and cleave is still recharging. If I wait a tick inside the area, I can cleave again. I've had this happen several times, across multiple different areas. Code: A briar-covered treant winces as a series of fractures appears on its wood hide!
You slice a briar-covered treant's stomach, ripping a gaping hole in its stomach! A briar-covered treant is DEAD!! A briar-covered treant's tentacle is skillfully severed from its body. You get 9 silver coins from a corpse of a briar-covered treant. You get 6 copper coins from a corpse of a briar-covered treant. You junk a corpse of a briar-covered treant. Just keep it all. [ 32%] [ 3%] [ 90%] [1 obsidian, 8 platinum, 6 silver, 3 copper] e You walk east. Ash covered hills These rolling hills are matted with uprooted grasses, fresh mud, carrion, and charred chunks of wood. Plumes of ashes spill into the air with the passing wind, causing the scent of burning to dominate the area. The floating white and grey flakes swirl and cling anything they come in contact with, caressing everything with their soft touch. Tufts of fur and crumpled leaves dance among the chaos. In the distance more war-torn hills can be seen, the southern horizon dominated by mountains. Huge boulders form a wall to the northwest and northeast - they are apparently some kind of makeshift battlements, marking the borders of a battlefield. A waning crescent moon hangs in the sky. It's mostly clear, very hot, and there is absolutely no wind. Obvious exits: n e s w sw se A shamanic minotaur woman is here. A shamanic minotaur woman is here. A blooming treant lumbers here. A nightmare walks in from the west. [ 32%] [ 3%] [ 90%] [1 obsidian, 8 platinum, 6 silver, 3 copper] n You walk north. A muddy path. As the rolling hills make their way to the mountains in the south, a muddy path appears. Small patches of grass linger in the sloppy, torn turf. Scorch marked chunks of wood lay upon the ground, kicking up old ashes with each passing breeze. Amidst the mess, hoof prints and large, swirling impressions can be seen. To the north lie hills that are less worn. Huge boulders form a wall to either side of the path, blocking all exits but those to the north and south - they are apparently some kind of makeshift battlements, marking the borders of a battlefield. [ 32%] [ 3%] [ 89%] [1 obsidian, 8 platinum, 6 silver, 3 copper] n You walk north. Glimpses of the countryside can be seen between hhh lush rolling hills. A waning crescent moon hangs in the sky. It's mostly clear, very hot, and there is absolutely no wind. [100%] [ 97%] [100%] [1 obsidian, 8 platinum, 9 silver, 3 copper] clea bria You cleave through a briar-covered treant's right leg! Your cleave wounds a briar-covered treant. I've tried to test this out, but it's hard to get the timing right. It seems that I am able to cleave normally outside the area, but as soon as I enter the area, my cleave is on recharge again until the next tick. |

I think I figured out what's happening in the first post. I cut out a lot of the extra junk to make the log more readable - in the time I woke up and walked back into the zone, I fought a wild zakami for one round. I didn't think it relevant to the issue at all, so I cut it out. Code: clea bria
You are still preparing for your next cleave. [ 92%] [ 48%] [ 97%] [5 obsidian, 3 platinum, 5 gold, 6 silver, 7 copper] You are hungry. <---- an out of combat tick has occurred, and i should be able to cleave again. It's hot out here. [ 95%] [ 49%] [100%] [5 obsidian, 3 platinum, 5 gold, 6 silver, 7 copper] kill bria <--- i choose just to attack normally, rather than cleave You cleave at a briar-covered treant's right leg, cutting through a muscle! [ 95%] [ 49%] [100%] [5 obsidian, 3 platinum, 5 gold, 6 silver, 7 copper] < I kill the target > [ 91%] [ 49%] [ 98%] [5 obsidian, 3 platinum, 6 gold, 3 silver, 4 copper] clea bria <---- i cannot cleave, even though an out-of-combat tick occurred since my last cleave. You are still preparing for your next cleave. [ 91%] [ 49%] [ 98%] [5 obsidian, 3 platinum, 6 gold, 3 silver, 4 copper] You are hungry. The wind changes and begins blowing from the east. [ 95%] [ 49%] [100%] [5 obsidian, 3 platinum, 6 gold, 3 silver, 4 copper] clea bria <---- i can cleave again, as per normal. Your cleave maims a briar-covered treant. Is this a bug, or is it intended? |

Cleave takes a tick to recharge. A tick passed between both of those, I see no bug there. |

There is only one cleave in that snippet. Read more carefully. It's a little deceptive because my weapon also "cleaves". |

You didn't TRY to cleave in the other one, typed "kill" after the tick passed. |

That was the [REDACTED] point: why is my cleave on recharge when I haven't used it, but COULD have used it? |

It's after -combat- not after using a cleave. |
