Health - 100 | Mind - 77 | Stamina - 100 (4pm) wield sling You wield a talon-worn leather sling in your hand. You are skilled with a talon-worn leather sling. Health - 100 | Mind - 77 | Stamina - 100 (4pm) reload You load your weapon with a smooth stone. Health - 100 | Mind - 77 | Stamina - 100 (4pm) l w The wooden door is open. You see The Griffon's Tail Pawn. A plain male human is nearby west from here. Health - 100 | Mind - 77 | Stamina - 100 (4pm) shoot w plain They aren't here. ________________________________________ Im not sure if slings are supposed to have room-range? But even if they don't, shouldnt the correct response be: "They are out of range" NOT "They aren't here" I've tried to shoot NPCs with a sling from 1-room away in both cities and outdoors. In cities I get "They aren't here" (when they are) and Outdoors the correct "They are out of range" comes up. |

Slings can indeed only hit the room you are in. The reason that you get the "They aren't here" message when you "shoot w plain" is because the game is actually trying to target "w" in the room you are in, which of course isn't there. SK ignores trailing arguments like that in most cases (For example, you could type shoot lion egg cow duck, and it would just try to shoot the lion.) Why you're getting conflicting messages in overworld rooms is probably just due to coding: Ranges are different in the overworld (For example, flamestrike reaches across 1 room indoors or in cities, but not in overworld rooms, etc) but it should be fixed, I suppose. |

"Slings can indeed only hit the room you are in." Aha. So slings are almost entirely useless after all. I would only use one for fighting a third-row, halfling necromancer. |

Yup! Or really any necro at all, as a barbarian. Anyone besides a barbarian can use a crossbow which is infinitely better. But necros have few HP, and a hasted furied barb can actually put a hurting on a necro with a sling, moreso than with any other weapon. |
