WTF is up with this crap? I died and my container disappeared left all my [REDACTED] in my inv which I could not get :/ then my bracer disappears also making me not able to carry hardly anything, then my nice expensive scroll that I was holding disappeared. Anyone know ANYTHING about why the hell this is happening?

Usually items disapear on death if the item limit has been exceeded.

Lets say the game allows for 10 fancy scrolls. However, the game managed to produce 11 fancy scrolls. The next person that dies with one of them will have it disapear to reset the limit to 10. This also happens often with certain types of store bought armor that is used a lot.

Of course some items are just set to rot at death. Or someone could have found your corpse and 'borrowed' one or two of your items while you where recovering yourself.

Well considering the Things i speak of are hoarded like crazy, I think it may have been the rot-death thing or the nosave thing. They both appeared after the reboot last night but I do not know how many of each item are in the game. The Container I was not sure if there was only one or two. The bracer I had seen at least 3 other people with it so I do not know if that was the extra one it produced.

It sounds like one or more of the things already mentioned. Some items do rot on death. Death triggers some items to rot after a certain period of time. Some items can exceed the limit and be lost, and, lastly, some items can be borrowed by other PCs.

Are the limits on item instances imposed due to constraints on system resources?

If not, how are they decided and how are they evaluated? Does each builder make the decision independently? Is it a function of item level?

Example: a certain quest reward from a certain mage colony.

Inquiring, constructive minds want to know!

You guys put it so politely as "borrowed."

In fact, I'm going with that from now on.

This question would've been best answered in-game.

No it wouldn't have.

Even if that was an attempt at sarcasm, your sarcasm sucks.

Here's one for you, Velvet Hobo:

How do you explain ic an identify spell of a corpse that tells you that the corpse is a pc or npc corpse? I'd have a great day with this one.

This has been happening to me too.. and I'm pretty sure no one is just "borrowing" one item from my inventory every time I die.. it's been mostly useless items like cure blindness herbs or recall vials only stuff in my inventory though.
