Okay, so earlier, I visited Sith'a'niel Commons with another player, then we went off to find me some teachers, and after a half hour, I logged off in Teron to have a smoke. Came back, and I was back in Sith'a'niel Commons with a full half hour's worth of work erased(all of the spells I learned, money I gained, etc. were gone). Unfortunately, I don't have a log of this. I bug reported it, but I don't know if that'll do anything. So, to the core of this post, I decided that I'd sit around Exile, enchanting my equipment for a while. Got up to do something, and came back to find myself logged off. No big deal, happens all the time. But when I loaded the game, I was back in Sith'a'niel commons. Before I logged off, I had repaired every piece of my equipment, and bought myself a sash from Ardonia's, in addition to a ton of enchanting. And the first time, I had raised petrify/depetrify up to "good," but since I don't have a log of that, it's not going to help anyone. Honestly, chances are, none of this post proves anything, but this is worrying the crap out of me now. Is my pfile corrupted, or something? |

The only simple reason that would have happened is if the server had crashed not long after you stepped away. When the server crashes people get reset to the last time they "saved," and that's not always the same for every character and can end up pushing them back around 30 minutes or sometimes more. Did you check the server time after you logged back in, to see if it had just rebooted? That's the only thing I can think of. If, however, this happened yesterday, the server hasn't rebooted since Sunday night at 11:00 PST, so that isn't the problem. |

Did you check the server time after you logged back in, to see if it had just rebooted? That's the only thing I can think of. It happened this morning, and we're talking about two times that the game saved at the exact same place with a half hour of playtime since that save the first time, and about two hours for the second time, so I doubt crashing is the case, but I'm hesitant to log on until the problem is fixed, since I don't want to risk anything right now. But, if it matters at all, the first time was somewhere around 5:30 this morning(EST, so 2:30 System time), and the second was around....well, when I posted this topic, was when I found out about it. |

It happened to me already, I think something's wrong and the game does not save. I tried manually saving but all I end up is logging in at the same place. Feels like groundhog day... |

From this log, I don't see any indication you successfully quit from the MUD. Did you enter the quit command? If so, then the game should have saved the state of your character. If not, a hard crash could have reset you to your previous location. Most likely, there's something amiss going on. I would recommend logging in and moving to a different room, but before you quit, use the save command. If you still have this problem, probably best to get some more accurate logs and send them Achernar or Dulrik's way. |

Thanks, Peso. I knew my log was crap, but I didn't have anything better to prove it with. Glad to see it's a problem with the MUD, and not my character, since another player told me that I might lose my character if the pfile was corrupted(which was what they thought was going on). And, yes, like I said to another player, it is exactly like Groundhog's Day, save the awesomeness of Bill Murray. |

It's worse than that. Everything I have gotten since this started last night, when I log out it's lost. Anything I carry, if I drop it, it multiplies. |
