Either the sentient-only parrying is not working properly, or this NPC is improperly flagged.

Quote:
l lurk
This creature loosely resembles the makings of a squid. Its cone-shaped
mantle is presumably the creatures head region, made evident by a set of
inky black eyes that are deeply sunken and eerily void of emotion or reason.
Twelve tentacles begin at the base of the mantle and stretch -the length of
the average male human- out into a giant canopy that is connected by a
membrane of reddish-pink flesh. When shrouded in the deadly embrace of this
creature, one might look up and notice a gaping, circular mouth that is
rimmed in vicious-looking fangs.
His head is bleeding.
His chest is bleeding.
His abdomen is scratched.
His right arm is scratched.
Overall, a lurker has quite a few wounds.

A lurker is using:
<worn as skin> flesh hide (superb)

A lurker parries your attack.
A lurker parries your attack.
A midnight-blue atyrros raises its weapon and smashes it deep into a lurker's chest!
A lurker dodges a midnight-blue atyrros's attack.
A lurker misses you.
A lurker misses you.
Overall, a lurker is in awful condition.

It was improperly flagged. Strangely, even though the lurker race itself is non-sentient, this one was. Changing it, but let me know if there was some apparent story or quest reason for them to be sentient in this area...

Wait, it's suppost to be "sentience" that qualifies ability to natural weapon parry? Not to get into a wild animal rights debate, but should alligators really be parrying?

If they're still doing it after last night's update, they're improperly flagged.

Oh, I get it. I missed that scanning the update listing and thought it was part of the original roll out of natural weap parry. My bad.
