Just read a log where warlock spammed chain lightning but wasn't hit once, its this bug or new feature? |

It's a feature. I always pictured chain lightning as an arc of electricity bolting from the caster's fingertips. (something like force lightning in SW) |

I believe this was part of the warlock package that occurred months ago. |

This may or may not be a bug. I don't see anything in the recent warlock code changes that would have intentionally caused this to start happening. But there's always been a bias against hitting the caster. If the spell runs out of targets, it should still arc back to the caster. |

I'd like to think of it as a bug. Especially since it hits the caster if the caster doesn't have a pet. It's only when you have a pet that it stops hitting the caster. Ontop of that, fireball STILL hits the caster. If fireball is still hitting the caster, and chain lightning is not, then there is no reason ever to use fireball as Chain Lightning is now superior AoE. IMO, AoE should either hit everyone, just the enemy group, just your group, or everyone outside your group. Not everyone but the caster. |

Chain lightning arcs between characters in the room, the caster is in the room, the caster should be on in on the arcing. Now as I said on the other thread, I don't care if resist elements negates the majority of the damage, but if you are in the same room as chain lightning you should be struck by it. Chain lightning is not sentient and should not recognize one target from another. |

Posting to confirm that I think this spell is not bugged. It should not hit the caster. |

I think it is bugged. If you don't want to hit yourself, don't use a room affect spell. |
