I did not seem to disband my group after the game said I disbanded my group. I did not physically type in to dismount the pegasus, and yet I did. I am perlexed.

It's not a bug. According to the newest update you are automatically grouped with whatever you are mounting so when you mounted the pet you auto-formed a new group.

As to the dismount it happened because you can't be mounted on something outside your formation anymore.

When I disbanded the group, it auto-dismounted me.
But I was still in my own group...

Read your own log and apply the new code logic to your order of operations.

Please don't ever say anything about about this code update. Ever. If you do have to criticize it, please first go back in time and deal with a spirit rider. Then, and only then, can you make an informed critique of this code update.

If it's helping the spirit rider thing .. great.
I will sort the chicken and egg thing out.

Actually the code was helping. It was functioning properly and therefore helping the game to operate as intended. You were just trying to do the now-impossible. As Ayn Rand is oft quoted as sayinf, "Reality, to be commanded, must be obeyed."
