A bulge in the plummet

Stairs spiral up and out of this strangely semi-spherical room, but there
is space in which to walk around. Battered copper sconces hold sputtering,
smokey torches which don't seem to give off much light at all. There are
boot-prints in the stone dust and some care has been kept to keep the
sconces from simply falling off the roughly carved wall. A steel hatch is
situated in the middle of the floor.

There is a freshly-painted green sign planted in the ground here.
A sentry stands here, looking bored.
