For example:
     who lothoriel --  shows you whether 'Lothoriel' is currently playing
     who hammer    --  lists all members of the Hammer cabal who are visible (*) 
     who religion  --  lists all members of your religion who are visible
     who immortal  --  lists all visible immortals

This is misleading. When Lothoriel is not logged on it tells me he's not logged on, but when he is on, it tells me that he's not on.

The who command should probably have it a bit more explicitly stated that people unseen do not appear on the who list rather than just mentioning the gods in wizi or in editors. I feel it is kind of scary to see the who number drop from 20 -10 for a human newibe just because its between the in game hour of 8-12 and people with infra vision dont wear glowing items.

No. who lothoriel should tell you who Lothoriel is playing. Like a secret easter egg of SK.

Sounds to me like you need to look to the heavens and have your Pudgy radar readjusted. Just look for the ling priest wiggling his toes like its going out of style.
