I do believe that on person held cabal spells should not work with MR barbs, as it was their choice to do what they do.

Self cast spells will work on MR people. I don't have a problem with it.

I agree. I think it's safe to say that if you're trained in MR, you can control your resistance at will, lowering it when you're casting spells on yourself. However, a person with MR on their gear casting a spell on themselves is subjected to the MR check, because it isn't themselves with the MR, rather it's their gear. They can't lower MR on gear themselves.

Actually, someone test that. MR barb in cabal. No MR gear. Cast spell on self. Expected results, works fine. Release spell. Wear ton of MR gear. Cast spell on self. Expected results, should fail.

At least, that's what I think would happen.

No, Rodwen, MR barbs can't control their resistance unless they are using suppression. The issue is that self-cast-only spells bypass MR. I _think_ that a sorc wearing 100 MR can still cast etherealform without it being resisted (but a wand can be resisted).

I actually think I agree with peso on this. MR hambarbs and MR harliebarbs using their cabal spells is counterintuitive and kind of OP, imo. I don't think self-cast spells should bypass MR, actually, regardless of class.

Let me rephrase. I think that's the logic behind the way it works currently. Also, you forgot MR Councilbarbs.

I don't think that would be very powerful because I think the spell uses a lot of mana for a barb. Not positive, tho. Now an mr SORC in crucible using that would be devastating.

They might be able to cast it twice. That's if they don't berserk and if they have enough intelligence to deal with the concentration cost while in melee with (probably) multiple people.

So, it is quite far from overpowered.

X barb runs in defensive with epee and shield and tons of AP armor... 2nd crux member spams into the room.. the stat thing they get is what makes them not need any mods. anything else?
