Your spell passes ineffectually through Sarukayn. > shoot w vermilion This spell requires a name or direction. WTF, so shooting things is like charging them now? Also, I can no longer shoot from a distance in wilderness rooms. |

There's nothing different with the shooting code. It's always shared the same targetting system with the magic system. In the first example, your target was apparently ethereal. I see nothing unusual about that one. Not sure about the second example. 'w' should have been recognized as west. Perhaps you accidentally inserted a control character next to that letter that confused the game? |

Its never done these sort of things before the update. I would get my normal 4 attacks a round on an ethereal person even though the arrows were going to waste. And no, I just copied from the mud. Sometimes it does this stuff, sometimes it doesn't. The only other thing is that I can no longer range attack in wilderness rooms. |

If you were already firing at someone when they cast ethereal, I wouldn't be surprised if it would continue shooting, but that's a different situation than this one. Are you sure this is NOT the first time that you have tried to fire on someone who was not already ethereal when you typed shoot? Different code is used for the initial shoot command than is used once you are firing. What you posted is exactly what I would expect to happen. |

My theory it has something to do with skirmish. Because when I am ethereal I usually suck up arrows like a big sponge. But I always think scouts are skirmishing me. Maybe because you did not skirmish for Sarukayn and manually targeted him you got that msg. |
