Now is it me, or should that NOT be considered combat? I am after all healing them.

This has been brought up a number of times. Big D has said that he considers it too small a bug to take the time to fix. I hate that bug too but with all the other coding that goes on, I can see his point.

Meh, I don't consider it a small bug, necros are hard enough to level as it is without having to wait two ticks every time you heal your undead before you can sleep.
