I'm not sure if this is actually a bug or not, but one would think since they can't see it shouldn't even show the name of the person in the tells/replies.

My understanding was that being in a dark room was not the same as being blind, as far as detecting other players goes.

Recall if you will that tells are psychic. Does darkness make you any less psychic?

Or blindness, for that matter?

Okay, for the intelligence-challenged folks among us, I'll explain it very, very slowly.

People in Shattered Kingdoms are psychic. Tells are a means of psychic communication. You think that because it's dark, you shouldn't be able to see who's sending you a tell. I'm asking what the hell physical darkness has to do with mental communication.

Does darkness prevent you from picturing something in your head? No. Tells work on the same theory, you don't actually see the person in front of you giving you a bunch of psychic says. It's all in your head.

But well done for flaming on bug discussion. I enjoy first making you look like an idiot, and second pointing out that you just made yourself look like an idiot also.

if you're blinded, you physically can't see. if the room is dark, you physically can't see.

why, then, would one restrict the person's name, and the other not?

Darkness (Night/Dark rooms) = See the name from a tell.
Blindness = Do not see the name from a tell.
Dead (Unmanifested) = Do not see the name from a tell.
In Midnight = Do not see the name from a tell.
Person Invis = Do not see the name from a tell.
Person Hidden = Do not see the name from a tell.
Person Camo'd = Do not see the name from a tell.

See a trend here own!? Your theory is great and all, but apparently it doesn't coincide with Dulrik's vision on SK, regardless of telepathy being the means for a tell. If one has to confirm, then they all have to.

That was in fact my succinct (and vague) reference to the fact that unfortunately, you don't see the name of the person if you can't detect them due to blindness or camo or whatever.

I agree, it's a discrepancy that should be fixed. You should see the name of someone sending you a tell unless they're invisible, one of you is in a midnighted room, or possibly dead.
