I unfortunatly don't have a log of this but I hope this post will have just as much of an effect than if I did.

I went looking for a mentor to teach me a lowbie spell that I sucked really, really hard at. When I finally found one he/she offered to touch up the rest of my spells as well. At the time my "cure light" spell was "superb". When I attempted to learn more of "cure light" it gave me a message saying I completed -one- lesson and gave me zero coins in change. When I looked at my spells again it put my "cure light" skill level -back- to "very good". Granted it only put it back one level and the mentor system is still new and fresh but none the less I doubt it should be like that.

Just lettin' y'all know. :)

Log of it happening again...

Also the code doesn't seem to like people of different classes training each other. Mr Paladin couldn't train me in some skills that were quite low for me, but higher for him.

At least you're playing a mercenary now.

said I'd be back... Just happens that I'm on a 28.8k dialup from the boonies... :( Sk is good, but not quite worth a 200 mile roundtrip to use the Flying J's wifi link...

And Mercs are fun. Thought I'd try one out. No names let on until they die.

Theres something wrong with the teach thing, was trying it out, had parry mastered, and it said I could learn it from someone, tried it, and instead of the 'You can't learn anymore' message I get, 'You train parry', and "I've taught you everything I know" and my parry goes down to good. And the person was a different class, don't know if that makes a difference or what.

I was just looking to see if everything was the same as when you trained with a NPC, like if I'd tried to train it with a NPC, I'd've gotten the 'You can't learn any more parry' here thing.

Being looked into now. We do appreciate the bug report.

For now, though, advice to all...don't try to train anything that you've already got at "very good" or better from another PC. Given that you know you can't train it better than that....

No, it doesn't. A priest training a priest also knocked an ability down to good.

Already had this fixed a week ago, but we haven't had a reboot since then. It didn't seem like a big enough deal to bother with a reboot.
