Playing Shattered Kingdoms is usually possible with the software that already comes with your PC's operating system. However if you want an improved experience you can download one of the many "MUD clients" that enhance the interface between you the player and our MUD server. For more information and links to many clients that are available to download follow the link below: Shattered Kingdoms website list of clients: http://www.shatteredkingdoms.org/clients PS: Please reply to this thread if any of the links shown are broken or if you have a new MUD client that should be listed (including name, version and supported operating system(s)). |

You don't have a section for Windows 7, but I'm fairly certain that Vista and XP clients will work just fine. I use MUSHClient and I've used Fire Client on Win 7. |

Anyone ever try wintin? www.wintin.org Trying to figure out how to set up the program so I can have a 2nd window that'll show just when people talk, I tend to miss when people contact me cause of training. |

I liked Wintin (What I started on) a lot more than MUSHClient (Which is what I use now) overall. It was much easier to write aliases, set variables, and whatnot in Wintin (Though I could never figure out how to get the Variable indicator character off of $, which meant that anytime I used colors I had to put two dollar signs and I could never get colors to work right with aliases or something). I switched to MUSHClient for two main reasons: Logging in HTML was much easier, and the colors thing was really annoying after a while. |

If it's a tin-tin family client, look for your "verbatim char," the character that you can put at the beginning of a line to turn off all parsing. For example >alias gg say looks like we're blasting off again!;get recall robe;quaff recall On my client would alias gg to the say, then execute the other two commands. Not what I want. So I type >\alias gg say looks like we're blasting off again!;get recall robe;quaff recall Problem solved. So, try starting your lines with a backslash, see what happens. That's the best advice I can offer. |
