So I found out about this fundraiser where you sit around and play video games for 24 hours and raise money for children. I decided to create a team: http://www.extra-life.org/index.cfm?fuseaction=donorDrive.participant&participantID=148353 Feel free to join or sponsor if you would like. I am fundraising for the Children's Hospital of San Antonio.

I thought I would share it with this community in case you wanted to start your own team or participate individually. The main website is http://www.extra-life.org and you can choose the Children's Miracle Network Hospital you want the money to go to.

But how does it work?
Is it like a walkathon for hours logged on a video game?
Because that would be kinda awesome.

Kind of.

I am pretty sure it is based on the honor system but I can find out more. You basically just pledge to play games for 24 hours. And it doesn't matter what game. So for instance you could play 10 hours of sk, 5 hours of Assassin's Creed, 5 hours of Age of Empires and then 4 hours of Candy Crush.

It would be pretty cool if we could have a bonanza around that time too.

Friend of mine does a lot of fundraising/recruiting for Extra Life.
It is pretty damned awesome.

It is on the honor system and it can be broken out into different days as long as you complete the 24 hours.

I personally think I will just do the 24 hours straight!

Any local gaming/comic convention around me usually has a table set up for this organization. They are highly approachable. With summer coming up, maybe you can catch' em to speak to them live, as well.

I will likely just stay in pajama's all day, bake cookies and play SK and maybe some Age of Empires.

And drink wine. Lots of wine...

I could play GTA V Online 24 hours straight without a problem. But I fear I'd anger a lot of 9 year old self proclaimed "Gangsters" who are in dire need of actual parenting...... The youth of today has me worried about humanities future......

I got hella tired after streaming Megaman for 8 hours.

It's not as easy at it seems.
