[ 1 ] Brandon: An Update on Evil Magics and the Undead Scourge To: All On: Dark Shades 19, 1465 In: god writing Greetings, Adventurers! Despite the murder of Stephanos, the members of the Torrum Arcana continue our quest to rid the realm of the undead scourge. 1. Kias attempted to use Lydia and her known betrayal of the Council of Necromancers for his desire to destroy the Tower of Necromancy in Krychire. As a mortal whose necromantic powers were not chosen at will, Kias wished to deplete some of the power of the dark magics, even though he himself would suffer as well. 2. Lydia used an ancient relic to attempt this spell at the crater in the Cursed Wood. The magic was unsuccessful. Instead of being destroyed, the tower was lost to the Nightmare realm and zombie undead have been creeping into the realms from a green haze near the former site of the tower. The relic shattered into three pieces that willing adventurers have been gathering over the last year. The reconstructed relic seems to have little power in and of itself. 3. The spell has been confirmed by Ulryn to be a complete blunder by Kias. His lust for revenge gave him confidence to complete magics that are beyond his power. However, the adventurers of Pyrathia can harness the reconstructed relic used by Lydia along with various components throughout the realm to cast a spell to end the zombie invasion and/or relocate the tower once more. The scale of success of the spell depends on how many components can be collected before the spell is cast. 4. If the spell is not successfully cast at all, the zombies will increase in number and in strength, and the tower will be forever bound to the Nightmare Realm. If the spell is partially cast, the zombies will be stunted and prevented from spreading further, and the tower will shift to another location. Should the spell be fully cast with all components, the magic will be such that the zombie invasion is completely erradicated, and the tower will be sent into perpetual motion through the realm. 5. No one group will be sufficient to collect all of the necessary elements. As magic spans the spectrum of light to dark and the zombies cover the lands from East to West, so do the components of this spell. 6. Collection of the various components begins at 6 o'clock am on Winter Wolf 1st (OOC: 3:00 PM Sunday) and the spell must be cast, partially or completely at 11 o'clock pm on Winter Wolf 11th on (OOC: 8:00 PM Sunday). We will have more details on the exact requirements of the spell on the 1st. - Brandon |
