I catch the plague and slick as I am I turn into a griffon to wait it out.

Code:
You utter the words, 'sarlzaksp'.
You polymorph into a griffon.

[HP:  56%] [ME:   3%] [PE:  91%] [Coins: zero]
land
sle
You stop flying.

[HP:  56%] [ME:   3%] [PE:  91%] [Coins: zero]
You go to sleep.

[HP:  56%] [ME:   3%] [PE:  91%] [Coins: zero]

You wake, and sit up.
You writhe in agony from the plague.
Luckily, you are immune to that.

[HP:  55%] [ME:   1%] [PE:  91%] [Coins: zero]
sle
You go to sleep.

If I am a griffon, should I not become immune to the plague and its nasty side affects?

Not if you already got the plague. I play a griffon and mophed into something got poison but still was affected by poison after I de-morphed. Think of it as a flu shot, if you already have the flu and then get the shot you will still have the flu even though you have the immunity in your system.

I love how people justify game mechanics with IC and RL reasoning.

I think you should be immune to the effects, it not hurt you, sap PE MANA or anything, but I think you shold still be a carrier and be able to infect others, and start suffering the plague again when you un poly

I suppose the effects shouldn't hurt you, just like polymorphing into a <IC info> to keep from certain damage. What I don't think should happen that you would expect is to get rid of the plague affect altogether, otherwise anything that doesn't come off with cancellation would come off with polymorph.

As opposed to just spouting off opinions based on whim and desire, without justification?
