No.

There is this one flaw in the system. Overall, the design is just fine.

Well how about this for a flaw: I engage in combat against an opponent while behind a pet. I have no reaching weapon. Each spell i cast against them, i get a crime. In the course of one battle I could end up having 15 counts of attempted murder, and in some places that'd equal 15 days of jail. You don't see that as a flaw?

That seems more like a revamping of the combat system, Adder, which would get really complicated. I know I'd have an anuerysm trying to code some of that stuff.

I agree that some things about the law system are a bit flawed, but most of it seems to require too much work to take priority over other things, so it makes sense that it's not first on the list right now.

Yes, I do. But that is the exact same flaw that I already mentioned. AKA because you are not in normal melee combat, every aggressive action you take, such as casting spells, is considered a new crime.

What happened is that the warlock chain lightning the room. There were four people other than the warlock in the room. Warlock got whacked and everyone got reported.

I was the one that actually killed her and I was a bit upset that I wasnt on mode stun when it happened because it was really kind of unexpected since we had been sitting there all having a nice chat up until that point.

I understand that mode stun should be in effect in most cities. Like taslamar and lighty cities. However, somewhere like krychire or the empire, perhaps it should be made not a crime to kill a person in self defense, since these are evil lands as it is.

This is just a temporary "band-aid" solution, but couldn't you in theory make only one crime reportable per 2 hours against a person? AKA I attack XXX with a spell 5 times, but as long as the last attack was within 2 ticks of the first attack it only counts as one crime. I very rarely see people trying to kill people AGAIN within two hours- either the opponent is dead or gone within that time. They may return later, but usually not within such a short span.

It sounds like there are two problems in the situation described, so I must be misunderstanding something.

If the person who was on mode stun and was resting (Im2old4u) was charged with murder - then they are being held accountable for what other people in their group do. Is this the way it's always worked? I was under the impression that if you were on mode stun and were attacked in a city, you were free and clear of the law - regardless of what happened to the person as a result of other characters' actions.

Id expect what happened was the warlock had an elemental. The warlock cast chain lightning attacking everyone. Then everyone attacked the warlock in self defence, but they actualy attacked the elemental which didnt attack ... leaving them all with attempted mugging/Murder of the elemental. Which is the same as attacking the person (has to do with a Law fix for scout pets).
Recently I was attacked by someone and was outlawed for dieing. I believe my pet got me outlawed by auto assiting.

Krychire law is buggy actually.

I've killed Zalthania twice up there and only been charged with attempted murder both times.

Convenient for me but buggy.

I like Krychire's tribunal NPCs that kill you; instead of stunning you and teleporting you away when you are just banished.
