Since I'm the one that spawned this with a denial, let me make my personal point on this clear.

9 times out of 10 I will outright refuse to build an item that exemplifies or glorifies a player-character. I will RP it out IC with anyone who wants to RP it out, however the fact is it still will not happen. It's not just not fair or kosher and I can think of a thousand IC reasons to not do it, as any IC administrative NPCs that would have say over it.

Beyond that, I am absolutely open to any and every request people send to me. You should well accept the fact you can get denied, but I will hear out everyone who contacts me.

Well, I was wondering what is the exact policy for this kind of things?

I have been player for quite some time and I have witnessed several incidents concerning the matter. I only saw things getting done after some imm initiative. Is it really on the hand of the imm that is taking care of some specific region ? His good mood and desire to built ?

It is written somewhere that immortals will be easier to publish you a book but still, I have witnessed otherwise.

And I ask, since there is sufficient rp, for anything, why not build it after a request? Especially when this is not large, but something small.

Lastly, I would like to add my point of view which is that small requests should get done and be given more attention than other things. And I do not speak for l33t item requests.

ESL will probably help, especially with books and descriptions.

From the FAQ
http://www.shatteredkingdoms.org/faq#39

Quote:
All administrators on Shattered Kingdoms are or were once builders. Most administrators still have areas that they build. Builders are tapped from the player base. SK does not accept solicitations from players to become builders.
However, if you want to request that a specific item, creature, or area be built for you, you need to first find an appropriate Kingdom Director. Check the Annoucement Forums for a current list of Kingdom Directors. You may, as well, find a free-agent administrator who may be willing to assist. Once you've found a builder appropriate for what you wish to build, send them a PM or an e-mail with your request. Be aware, however, that builders are under NO obligation to fulfill player requests. Each takes on a project like this out of largess, not duress.

Also note the following things about such requests. First, the simpler the request and the less powerful the things you ask for, the more likely they are to be accepted and fulfilled. The larger and more complex the project, the less likely it will see fruition.
Secondly, requested items, NPCs, or areas should in general a) not glorify a player-character or a group of player-characters, b) be accessible to a reasonably large number of other players, and c) end up costing your character something, like a set quest or some SK money. There are, of course, exceptions. Builders are usually happy to make books for players at little cost, even if they are just about one's exploits. Or on occasion a gravestone may be built for departed character, upon a builder's discretion. In general, however, builders watch for those three things.

Just to point out, I made this question because I never seemed to be able to get anything to be built and not because of some certain denial.

I just wanted to see what other people think, what imms have to say and which is the right way to do so as well as to put my point of view in. I hold no hard feelings for any imm. :P

Alshain built me re-described me unique swords once for writing his help-file. Yenko is the best when it comes to publishing books, I've had three or four (all of which have my chars name at the time in them). Ain was quick about getting the things to do with the Sargas religion in in Menegroth Temple. And various other religion based things can score you free stuffs like the mural in the locked room of Terons Fear temple, thats mine too.

I guess I just watned to plug some of my direct input into the game. :P

If Dabi was still around, he'd get things done quick too... *sniffles* The hammer towers went from idea to finished product in only a week. And I shamelessly stuck my name in there too :P

My personal view on this has always been that smaller projects are more likely to be put in than a giant complex. Who would rather build a 20 room temple than a 2 room tower?

P.S. Wert's manifesto is floating around the pbase on numerous hard drives, and it's a good resource if you're planning on trying to build anything.

I've shamelessly been distributing Wert's building manifesto. PM me if you can't find it from an easier source.

Never ask Alshain to do -=ANYTHING=- because he takes your money, and runs away.

$0$I You see a medium sized $4ruby $0$Istatue here, on the southwestern edge of the ruined area of two doves holding a beautiful $4$Ired rose $0$I, the symbol of lady Aludra. There is a large $2 garden$0$I of $4$Ired roses $0$Igrowing around this statue.

$0$I You see a medium sized statue made of $7$I mithril here $0$Iin the northern part of the runined area, it appears to be a large great owl resting on a trees branch, grasping a broken chain, the symbol of Zavijah. There are many small $1$Iblue flowers $0$Igrowing around this statue.

$0$IYou see a large nightingale standing here, basking in the glory of a glowing light on the eastern edge of the ruins, it is made of $7pear $0$Iand around its neck you see the symbol of Messia, a white gem within a silver circlet. There are many $7$Iwhite roses $0$Igrowing around this statue.

$0$IYou are gazing a large $7$Iwhite $0$Iscale made of a fine $7$Iwhite $0$Istone, it stands towering in the northern part of the ruined area, the symbol of Lord Ain, The Eye of Justice. There are many small $6$Iyellow flowers$0$I growing around this statue.

$7$IYou have just entered a fairly large room, filled with lights, and to your surprise, five altars, spread out throughout the room. You see a white altar with the symbol of Lord Alshain carved into it. You see a $6$Igolden altar$7$I with the symbol of Lord Dulrik forged into it. You see a blue crystal altar$7$I with the symbol of Lord Zavijah etched into it. You see a $4ruby altar$7$I on top of which, the symbol of Lady Aludra. You next see a $3$Ilighter blue altar$7$I with the symbol of Messia carved into it. Lastly you see a $7gray stone altar$7$I with a Scale placed on its to the symbol of Ain. You also notice a small $1$Ispring$7$I pouring forth from the middle of the room. There are many trees here, large enough to make like a roof overhead.
$1$IA small bubbling spring is here, filled with clear water.

$7$IA small white altar is here, grass growing wildly about it, you glance carefully at the altar, to see the holy symbol of Lord Alshain carved into it, in a beautiful array of colors. The altar is made to look like a large white flame itself, and there seems to be enough room for one or two people to pray at a time here, All in all this looks to be a grand altar in praise to Lord Alshain.

$6$IA small golden altar is here, in a much clearer area of this structure. It stands nearly six feet tall. The symbol of the open gauntlet resides on both of its sides, and on the top, the open gauntlet glows with light. The altar seems to be big enough to allow two people a comfortable position to pray to their Lord.

$7A small gray altar is here, in the shape of a perfectly balanced scale. It stands nearly six feet high. The scale glows with a light of the Immortal Lord of Order, and resides near the spring. There seems to be enough room for one person to comfortably sit here, and pray to their Lord.

$1A small blue altar is here, lightning bolts springing forth from it, the altar of Wisdom it seems from the symbols of the Lord of Wisdom magically crested into the gemstone altar. It stands nearly five feet tall, and the lighting bolts reach up into the trees above the area, powerful and golden they seem.

$4A tiny altar is here, a beautifully etched red ruby altar, standing off to the side of the spring. It stands nearly four feet tall, and has the symbol of the LadyLove magically etched into the stone. Above the altar you can see the symbol of LadyLove, and the two doves getting ready to take flight into the air, on either side of the altar.

$3A small blue altar stands here, carvings of nightingales all about it. This altar seems to be made of out a lighter blue stone, this altar stands about four feet high, but is wide than most the others, it looks like you can fit three or four people here. On top the Altar, the symbol of the Healing one resides, basking in the glory of the altar itself.

THERES THE DESC'S FOR THE TENTH TIME!
