What should be done to summon?
Nothing. It's fantastic. I love ganking people. 19%  19%  [ 14 ]

I say let it summon the entire group under two conditions.

1. It saves the group formation
2. It only summons people in the same room as the person being summoned. I.E. Two people in a group, one recalled to get something - one of them gets summoned and the other is still 'safe'

That way, even if someone summoned someone elses charmie - the sorc could still be in back and have a chance to leave or even cast an 'i win' spell.

[edit]That, or I also like the idea of not being able to summon someone if they have auto summon on, so long as gate gets a higher chance to hit the target. Would be a much better PK scenario then just a summon.[/edit]

Just to clarify - if a change is made to allow group summon, you don't even realize how easily it will be abused - or how fast I will encourage everyone I pk with to make sorcs/necros to abuse it till it is changed.

Anyways, my recommendation is to simply remove the influence of art on summoning. Then it will be fine.

I didn't read all of this, but I'd like to see it give you some idea of who is trying to summon you. Since they are trying to pull you to them you'd think you'd atleast get some general idea of who you're being pulled to.

Here is what should be done.

Auto summon on means you are immune to pc summons.

Lower the casting cost of gate slightly and make it easier to cast gate to pcs.

The risk of attacking should be for those who want to initiate the battle, thats why I disagree with summon working on an entire group.

I'll just say what I think then.

I do agree that summon should be either heavily changed to make it harder to land, cost more mana, or arguably have it learned -after- gate/rift.

That, and group summon wouldn't really work, the whole idea is basically covered by -gating-.
Cast gate victim, send your whole group through it. No need to group summon.

And as far as auto summon goes, it should either-
A) Make summoning impossible, but leave gating 100% open
or
B) Make summoning much harder to land and reduce gate's chance of landing as well.

Either way, people want it nerfed.

Summon should only be a utility spell to bring NPCs to the caster. Anyway, with group summon the summoner will still have initiative while the other group tries to figure out what is going on and initiative usually leads to winning the fight. So while it in theory sounds like it will even up the odds there's still that 2 second delay the other group members will suffer while they re-orient themselves.

You could also summon a group into a huge law NPC room and watch them get raped. And even the better prepared guys would die if you tried summoning a less enchanted PC.

Summon is fine, get willpower mods.

If you get summon attempts and you feel the summoner is near you, either wtfpwn them before they pull their summon, or go hide away from there.

It's not exactly rocket science how to avoid a summon gank.
