What should be done to summon?

I said leave summon alone or at the most give the name of the person.

The current *voodoo view* is fine, even without your v00d00 goggles it will still not show you who they are if they are polymorphed I don't think.

The main complaints with summon really started after art was implimented, but I hate to tell you it folks, summon kills happened before art, and will continue now.

At least you know where they are trying to pull you.

Summon kills have been happening for a very long time, and for that whole time people have been complaining about them. Gate kills used to be much more frequent than summons however.

And since summons are considered a poor tactic by most and have been for a long time I still don't see why such care is taken in allowing it to continue so the jackasses can have their fun rather than just putting a stop to it so most legit players can have a better time.

I thought of a possible change for summon if it turns out that this one doesn't help, and I don't think it's been mentioned yet though I may have missed it.

Make summon pull the target and their pet, like word of recall does. As long as it keeps the formation up that will give pretty much anyone a chance to escape.

If this has been mentioned before then just ignore me.

Already been mentioned but tossed because it'd just end up with more people being summon ganked at once.

I didn't mean pull the person's whole group, just their charmed pets like word of recall does when you use it. I don't see how that would end up with more people being ganked, maybe larger gank squads though so they can tear through the pet.

If they were grouped with other people it'd pull them out of formation unless they were holding the group and had the pet in front of them. Either way, it'd still discourage people from pking while under summons because they need to go through such measures to stay alive in the event of a summon (and people wouldn't be where they could do the most damage).

Wishful thinking that people always bother having good reasons.

Make auto summon totally resist summons. Best way to avoid most forms of lameness. Only time I liked summon was when I was in a city spawning huge numbers of bounty NPCs, and my "victim" was simply running/darting around, so if summon were removed I think the mechanics of raiding cities would need some consideration. I still think there are too many bounty NPCs spawning. But that's another discussion.

Edit: Making gate more powerful/likely to get to someone would help balance removal of summon. Well up for that.

P.S. Strakinvor once got a solo summon kill on Mieu!


this isn't anything to write home about. I'm not sure if any of you knew this but Mieu was pathetically weak.

Willpower spells in general seem to be way harder to resist than anything else. A while back I was summoned when I had anywhere from 22-24 willpower, granted they were only about 10 rooms from me, but its ridiculous to me that even with their 16 art, my remaining 6-8 will was not enough to resist it.
