My connection was interrupted from the game, and I wasn't allowed to reconnect... My mudclient gave me the message "Connection refused" I lost a level because of this, and have to make a long walk/recall back to town.

What happened? I didn't loose my internet connection, or experience any latency otherwise.

Did the game hiccup? And why wasnt my character saved properly :/

This is called a crash. Your character got rolled back a level because of it, and probably reset a few rooms away. They'll be the bane of your existance while leveling, but they'll never come soon enough once you learn where some loot that you want is.

Sounds like simple bad luck. Your character is saved periodically and it sounds like the last time it was saved before the system crashed was before you earned the level you lost.

Sounds like it may have been a crash, which doesn't happen very often. Nearly all reboots now are scheduled and involve a forced save of your character immediately prior to shutdown.

Your character's state is regularly saved to disk as you play, as part of the game's code, however there is always a chance that your achievements since the last snapshot may be lost if the game halts unexpectedly. The reason we don't try and save everyone's character snapshots when the game crashes is to avoid pfile corruption (since the crash may have caused corruption of character information). A small setback in your training is preferable to losing your character entirely.

There is a SAVE command that you can use interactively, if you have just accomplished something that you'd like to ensure is kept - attaining grandmaster, finishing a quest, etc. Bear in mind that this causes some load on the server and, to avoid lagging the MUD, there is a delay before you can execute another command after typing SAVE.

I remember one time my priest had a full mithril suit, I had just died due to an accident with another player, they had picked up my gear, i came back, got it, and crash. When I logged back on it wasn't in either of our inventories.

Yeah..Im well aware of what a crash is. I just didn't think this was the case, as I saw 30 other players online right when I got back. Mostly it takes a bit for a game to fill back up in my experience.

I had wandered through the wilderness for a while, hunting deer and the like. I doubt i'll be able to find any again, and since the only trained I know of is in the newbie school....I'm destined to slay about 100 way too easy warriors for the level again. *Sigh*

In this game, as soon as a crash happens I am going to bet that all the YIM/AIMs start being sent.

I managed to slay a firebird out in the wilderness after getting bored of slaying the same guards 100x over. Apperenty hes "Way too powerful for me" and still wasnt able to bring me from Almost ready to advance, to able to advance.

I got mad, and attacked one of the trainers at school. Someone who actually puts up a fight for once. Even the invigilators wouldn't spar my character. And since they wont let me into the "Tougher" parts of training there, really no choice.

Apparently even though hes in the training grounds i tried to "Murder" him. I got jailed for a day, and they took my tinderbox away. Hehe. Still cant level though.

Have to be careful of that. Any human type NPC in most places will be covered by the laws of those lands. taslamar realls is kinda bad for finding a newb ground right after the beginning school. Perhaps ask some players with experiences sounding titles IC for places to train.

Since you sound like you're getting desperate and i don't have enough time to just "happen" to run into you and help you out, I'll be more direct.

Code:
[--- ---] Varin Hope and Destiny - Weaponmaster of Taslamar.
[PAR ---] Morfinhai Captain of the Guard - Yed's favored
[--- ---] Shin Shinigami, Heaven's Retribution
[--- ---] Melithindlee - White Witch.
[PAR ---] Ghent Atirum - Librarian, The - Working on a Job
[--- ---] Stranair - Regent of the Alliance, Follower of Knowledge and Wisdom.

Try sending a tell to any of those characters to help get you started in the right direction. If this still doesn't work (but i'm fairly sure it will) post again.

tell <character name> Greetings, I'm a young griffon straight out of the Taslamar training school, could you help me with where I could go next to train my skills?

Something along those lines.

Crashes/reboots in SK tend to repop equipment that only shows up around those times, so you're actually more likely to see people after a reboot then at a similar hour on a different day. Most people just let their client keep trying to reconnect. Crashes/reboot also tend to be short, rarely lasting over a half hour.

A note on training: You're not going to be able to train by fighting random people/monsters you find in the wilderness. It's extremely dangerous, tiresome and not very effective. Instead, someone will most likely send you to a training area. These are not designated code-wise as any different then any other area, but it'll simply have a concentration of NPCs close to your level who deal low damage for you to train on, and is usually not in a law area (you won't get reported for murder).
