Sargas is right on. If you know it is a No-No then don't do it. I find it unbelievable that there is such a lack of personal responsibility that someone could even suggest the building Imm is at fault for the actions of a player. This should be punishable, but then again I've been suggesting the imms take a tighter rein and increase the array of punishments beyond that of exp.

The bug that is demonstrated here is the claw body part that falls from NPCs who have that body part. They should be "claws" weapons that are used with wild fighting, and the prototype of the claw object specifies this. However, there seems to be something in the bodypart creation logic that is corrupting the object into something that is labeled a curved dagger, but behaves like claws.

Weird.

D's post actually answers my question about a bug pretty well.

A claw chopped from a NPC can be used as claws(wild fighting weapon) from any class with that skill(barbarians). Any other class can use it as a curved dagger.

On whether I should be punished from entering that area, I've sent Sargas a PM with something that is shown IC on a certain sign near the area. I won't paste here because others might say it's IC info, if IMMs have any trouble PM me.

I guess I'm skeptical of this, since claw-type weapons are worn on hands, while curved daggers are held.
The claw object prototype is a claws-weapon,
The fallen body part is a claws-curved dagger hybrid *boggle*
And then logging back in, the object turns completely into a curved dagger weapon, except that it is worn on the hands *boggle*

No idea what to make of it, though still seems buglike to me.

After talking to Sadr, I agree that it is a bug. They should not ever be used as curved daggers or any weapon other than wildfighting claws. They will be fixed after the next update.

Was it possible to wear both the claw-dagger and a regular weapon?! Or did it work the same exact way as claw weapons but used the dagger skill?

I don't play boreds... er... barbs, but that seems like the opposite of what i imagine as feasable. If someone chops off an animal's claw or fang and tries to fight with it, how would they wear it as you would fighting claws --with a handle and strap or similar mechanism with the blades/studs attached to the strap? doesn't it make more sense that they would grab it like a wierdly shaped dagger and use it in a dagger-like manner? i dont really know the technical implications as far as skills and damage and all that code crap, but, if wildfighting with tigerclaws and brass knuckles can be done with a large fang or claw, then that seems to me to be the bug. Being able to pick up a claw or fang and stab someone seems perfectly logical to me... well, esskay style logic anyways.

Want to let us in on some details of your debate with sadr/D D/sadr?

It's not a debate. The bodypart is incorrectly spawned. This causes the bug in question after you log out and back in again.
