I think once you get to lower end hp's you get more drastic messages even if you do little damage.
i.e. a rogue's circlestab/hamstring
1) at the beginning of a fight, full hit (10% damage)from 100-90% you get "grazes" "hits" "scratches"

2) end of a fight where the target is near single digits. Even if the rogue does .1% damage you get ">>>obliterates<<<" or other more impressive messages.

I don't know if this works for regular melee. I also notice that the cleave did good damage, in which case it would seem odd for that same attacker to do sub 1% damage twice.

Hmmm, this is really strange. I compared to my log, and there was not a tick or something in between that would give you back health or something. And the blows did not deflect, you were DISEMBOWELED, which means you should have got SOME damage at least.

No bug, it's working as intended.

The HP % that you see is the HP left of your more damaged *critical* body part. In this log, the cleave hit the head(as you can see from the "skull explodes in pain" msg). The chest HP were still at 100%.

The hits in the next rounds were all to the chest. So even if he did a total of 65% in these rounds for example, your head was more damaged so you were getting the 32% HP left msg.

EDIT: Added the word critical. By critical body part I mean head/chest/abdomen. Once one of these three body parts falls to 0% HP, you die.

The hellfire part is indeed very strange. The next round with upped HP is because of the mode stun of the nightmare I guess.

Hrmf, I need to defend myself on that - My mentor bard doesn't exactly have all that many hps (something I am hoping to remedy). I sure hope I won't take 34% from a single ordinary hit when I'm gm
