No, but the sorcerer that was grouped with me in the only time we agreed to do a final strike did land it.

Sorcerers are fine, they don't really need any changes or additions. Resources should just be focused into increasing content or just spurring on RP (like is usually done anyways).

Final strike is fine, its not supposed to be used all the time, it serves its purpose.

For all you who feel that FS should be a released spell, or a "if the caster dies" spell, then you do not understand the spell. Period.

Go read:

Code:
[zhensh writing] COVER

A History and Analysis of the spell "Final Strike"
                            by
                    Calabash of Everclear,
                   Faithful of Zarathustra

A wonderfully written book that next to no one has read. And Juggy, as for leaking IC info OOC. Shush.

I still feel that it has no place or practical use in the hands of anyone, and that FS as it has been used, not how it should be used, is detrimental to the game.

Is that the "web" or "net" book?

If anyone has read the Sword of Truth series I kind of imagined FS being similar to whats described in that book. Mages created a barrier of sorts by blowing up in towers. Their essence coming out as mage sand, black or white, which could be used to create powerfull spells.

So he needed to be grouped with you to land it?

If a sorceror has the spell trained high enough and uses it properly then there is little risk of failure. For example, if you dig through some -old- favorite quotes you'll see an ethereal sorceror trying to FS. Obviously it didn't work because the opponents weren't ethereal. He went boom, nobody else. If you try to use it when you haven't shown aggressive behavior you're more likely to cast it without anybody suspecting you. It really comes down to the situation in question. If you're trying to kill a PK'ing/raiding group with it then you won't land it unless they're hitting somebody that isn't you.

Yet you prove the point that FS needs premeditation. Good work weenie! And thank you. :drunk:

When Lucius used FS to own the MC after lying and saying he wanted to join... great use of FS.

Umiro turning into a pineapple to attempt to FS people... great use of FS.

When Raphael used FS to destroy a pile of MC lewt even though he was simply trying to get the people as well... great use of FS.

When Keralin<sp> used FS to wtfpwn Tonth... great use of FS.

When Lucius I believe it was used FS to own a group of lighties at Teron stones, and then rolling around laughing about it afterwards... great use of FS.

When Calith asked Glasia to FS a group of lighties at the ToM, to which she replied, anytime anywhere... great use of FS.

When Fepel sacrificed herself to kill a group of 13 people who were trying to raid the relic when there were only 3 people to defend it in the hayday of CRS, an appropriate use of FS.

When that dumb mage used FS to get the omg l33t # of kills at the bardic competition... great use of FS.

These are the main FSs I've seen in the past year or so, and of them only one was justified in my opinion. There probably have been more, but I was not made privvy to them. I'm just saying in my eyes the spell has done more harm than help. Nearly all of these are premeditated mass murders, *not* final desperate acts.

Final strike is nearly legendary for both its sheer, awe-inspiring power
and for the few who know its secrets but still live. A final strike is the
very last and most desperate defense for a sorceror who knows that she is
sure to be defeated by her enemies.
