 Post subject: Report bug when casting on NPCs

Theres no way to show a log of this but i'm sure its happened to all of you. You go behind a pet and spam damage spells on a NPC and somehow for some reason you lose the fight and end up running. The NPC proceeds to report attemped murder for every single damage spell you tried to cast on it, and that would be fine if warriors were charged with attempted murder everytime they landed hits on NPCs.

Every time you c 'spell' X, it is initiating a new combat and a new reporting.

If you just do c 'spell', while initiated in combat you do not draw another report.

Magical devices initiate a new combat and a new reporting for each zap/brandish per person.

Sooooooooooooo, if you hold a reacher and stay engaged you are golden, else it sucks to be you.

Yeah it's pretty obvious why its happening. Its also pretty obvious that it makes no sense and should be fixed.

reply You can't just have it only count as one crime the duration of your heart racing for spells, then you could wtfpwn a LOT of NPCs/PCs and only get charged with one attack.

reply Or perhaps a timer set that you cannot be charged for *any* crime against a person if the last crime was less than say, 5 minutes IRL, unless it is to add "murder" or an additional attemptive murder when you stun.

reply Perhaps that might be decent, and possible to code. But then someone will find out how to abuse it. :(

Do double jeopardy. They only remember one attempted murder from a specific character until they report it, get to the judge's room, or they die.

Or you could just level in a place that doesn't have attempted murder as a crime.

Think I've got a fix for this next update. You'll have a few hours (game time) after attacking a specific person before you'll be elgible to be reported for that same crime on that person again.
