I would be down with this, it would add an aspect to running away, traveling, etc. It makes sense. Just, I guess does the staff give a damn.

It's like this.

If that is a square, it takes more distance to travel from the center to the corner than from the center to the side. Say if it's a 3x3 square, from the center to the side is 1.5 from the center to the corner you multiply by whatever equation the guy is saying to figure out the distance. I think anyhow. It makes sense, since the map is just a map, and represents areas and not what you really are traversing.

I read the first page and a half.
My impression -

Shut up. Who cares. It is a game. Stop attempting to inflate your ego by displaying your intelligence.

That's the same way it is on game. The 'grid' isn't for distance measures, so much as it is for mechanics issues (range, rooms, etc).

The grid causes distance issues, due to the way movement places you from other rooms on the map. It's original intent is a mute point.

As far as corresponding to the physical blabbity blah blah blah, it doesn't change the nature of molecular structure or gravity or any of the rest of physics, it just makes everything really hilly.

We have a 'hill' script for that. I think the hilly-ness is redundant.

If you want a problem to solve, explain why fly costs more PE over deep forests and valleys when you don't even touch the ground at all. I can understand deep forests, maybe, as you have to "dodge trees" or some such and you don't actually fly over the forest. But why valleys?

That's always bugged me, too. Make a thread about that.

Oh god... oh, oh sweet god...

People, I live, LIVE with a math major, and am friends with several others. My winter break was my reprieve, my solace... my one escape from this, and now you went and made this happen. My brain... ...I think it evaporated into my hair.

I swear, Rusin, if you throw a timecube arguement into this, or argue about the disrespect of the number 16... ...there will be blood.
