A male giant lounges here lazily, taking in his surroundings. He seems
to enjoy the weather, not caring so much how good or bad it is, but
simply enjoying it. He is rather handsome, looking happy and content.
His head is scratched.
His chest is scratched.
His abdomen is scratched.
His right leg is scratched.
Overall, an elder male giant has a few scratches.

An elder male giant is using:
<worn on body> (Glowing) a glistening plate cuirass (brand new)
<worn on legs> a pair of glistening hinged leg greaves (brand new)
<worn on feet> a pair of glistening sabatons (brand new)
<worn on hands> (Glowing) a pair of glistening hourglass gauntlets (brand new)
<worn on arms> (Glowing) a pair of glistening rerebraces (brand new)
<worn about waist> (Glowing) a glistening plate belt (brand new)
<both hands> (Humming) a leather-wrapped stone-and-steel spear (superb)

Not a bug, NPCs return to their spawning rooms (or room they were last summoned from, I think) once the charm spell is released.

People used to keep charmies in cabal HQs or hard-to-reach places before this change.

But the giant was put to sleep by the spell, I would agree that it would run away if the charm spell was released but not when its sleeping.

Then some crafty tribunal member would order his good sorcie/necro/shaman NPC to hold sleep on the charmie to keep it there forever.

Feature...

Then it's a dumb feature. If the NPC is sleeping, it should at least wake up before walking away. It doesn't even do that.

The Tribunal NPC would run out of energy eventually. It is dumb if you cast sleep on a NPC it should stay asleep till the spell is released.

Yes, standing NPCs concentrating on sleep would run out of mana rather quick (ever trained in the torrum? it doesnt take long for exactly this to happen, same as with charm). If you are holding sleep, the sleepy should absolutly stay asleep as long as you hold it and they remain undisturbed...
Especially when they are wearing a fully enchanted suit you spent way too much of your life making..... grrr.

You can keep sleep on two NPCs while resting and still regain mana.
Tribunal NPCs can rest and keep charmies asleep forever.

The only stupid thing about this feature is indeed the fact that the charmie doesn't wake up first.
