...because if this was made a compition we might see a flood of ingenius (and not so ingenius) finished works that due to the process of elimination we would end up with the very best thing?

Being rewarded in game for something you do out of game is lame. It's like giving an IMM a BJ and then expecting to become an IMM yourself. Just wrong.

Considering the track record of the game, I seriously doubt anyone would ever get an IC reward for this.

If you know how to do it, love SK, and always wanted to show your support, you'll want to do the banner ad. If not, I'm not that worried. We can figure it out. Usually players jump at a chance to help simply for the bragging rights. Ok. Ok. OK! I got it. I will give the creator of the best ad a cookie.

If my willingness to give back to SK bothers you, then you need to re-evaluate your self-esteem. That's not a recent issue brought forth by me or the game. Perhaps you should seek professional help.

I'm gonna stick with my list system for now.

B) I like this. If you go to TMS and look at the ads, the good (i.e. popular) muds always have two types of ads: humor (EXACTLY like this) or a list of what the mud has to offer. You know, those Iron Realms Entertainment ads where they send race after race after race flying at you and then start with the classes and abilities, the purpose being to impress/overwhelm the viewer with the versatility and variety of the game. Since SK is NOT (and I sincerely hope never will be) a game that relies in any way on huge lists of abilities and races/classes, I think that the ad proposed would be perfect. Go team.

By the way, don't look at me for graphics. I couldn't draw a pile of [REDACTED] if I had a model to copy from.

Perhaps we should have the art and banner requirements available somewhere on the SK site. So, if someone wants to use them he can do so without having to over bug the imms with e-mails.

Ok. I did a rough sketch on the idea posted here initially.

I warn you that this is a PRE-MATURE state of the animation, with rough ugly bubbles and lousy fonts and motion, but I just wanted to give it a quick shot so that we can have a visual of what we're talking about. Took me 15 mins to make this. So with adequate material and time, I could do better

I used some images randomly found on the net, since I don't have the artwork D mentioned.

Imagine that when I get the right artwork, the motion, bubbles, fonts and images will be smoother, and will run without framing.

This is also, the standard add-banner size that is mostly used on TopMudSites.
