So does first strike work like this?

> Kill Ninja
Too late, he already slit your wrists.
You drop your sword
A ninja stabs you in the chest.
A ninja stabs you in the face.

>flee flee flee!

Cloud Mind - spell - A true ninja masters the art of manipulating the minds of others into believing that he is not present. This renders the ninja completely unseen by anyone whose mind has become clouded. The ninja may be in plain sight but the minds of those around him are convinced that he simply isn't there. Therefore no detection spells, even true sight, will reveal his presence to anyone whose mind he has clouded. If the ninja attacks someone though, his presence will be revealed to all.

How it works.

The ninja casts cloud mind on hiimself and holds it. Much like the hide ability, there is no save message, there is no success message. In other words, you can't tell whose mind is clouded and whose isn't. You can only cloud the minds of people the same level or lower than yourself. Anyone in the room affected by cloud mind is unable to see the ninja even if they have true sight. The concentration factor of cloud mind is based on the number of people whose minds the ninja is trying to cloud at the time with NPCs having a very low concentration cost. Everytime the ninja moves rooms there is a new save roll. Those who fail will not even see him enter or leave(like the sneak ability) the ninja can even open and close doors or manipulate items in his inventory and no one will notice (basically the mud just squelches the echos for all affected. If the ninja attacks anyone, the spell is automatically dropped. (I'd like to see it so that AOE spells will still hurt the ninjas, but no one will see the damage message for it. Like if a warlock tosses a fireball yeah fire is fire, you're gonna hurt. But no one will see you taking the damage cause they don't even register that you are there.)

What alignment would ninjas be? Diabolic? All?

I was about to ask the alignment question myself. Not a bad answer.

I would be against taking throw away from everyone. That was added as much for NPCs as for PCs, so taking it away would ruin the point.

Most new class ideas wouldn't take nearly as much time to implement as bards. Bards had a completely unique system for songs to code.

That said, I am still concentrating on completing religion spells before doing anything else involving new classes.

The only thing I'm worried about is that ninjas won't fit into SK. Are you sure there isn't some other name/theme?

Given that rogues aren't barred from any alignment, why would ninjas be (the logic being the classes are comparable, morally)? Some alignments obviously work better than others (IMO unprincipled and aberrant are the most fitting), but they can all be worked into the concept.

For races, human, helf, delf, and hallfing?

This idea sounds pretty awesome. I'd say let sprites be ninjas too, what with them being the highest DEX race. I was going to say Elves too, but I'm not so sure how well that'd work..But Elves can be rogues, so I wouldn't see why not ninjas.
