Here why don't we do like every mmorpg, change everything around untill everyone is equal, then when its all said and done no one will want to play anymore cause no one will have an edge over the other player. These stats were set years ago....and they seem to work fine.

Actually, if I could give just one gift to the griffon race, it wouldn't be a power-up of any kind. It'd be a return to some of the roleplay the race had when I started the game.

Maybe it's the golden age effect, but I remember griffons being more interesting when they weren't so publicly accepted. Hunted by Druids, insulted by centaurs, thought of as overgrown parrots or unnatural monsters by many: I thought it was great fun for all concerned.

And I'd put the altruism back too. Besides being a unique racial feature, it was one of the things that made griffons so easy to manipulate - again fun for all concerned. Griffons are supposed to balance necromancers, who also have lots of enemies and a restrictive code of conduct. (Playing diabolic isn't easy.)

Maybe having more enemies would call for a power boost as well - but this worked in the days when griffons didn't have toughness, extra attribute points, or so many items. PK success is far less interesting than RP success.

In a sense, the OP is correct. Considering the way griffons play now, I agree 15 CHA is too low to represent their social abilities. I'd just rather fix the way they play.

Common sense says intelligence and charisma are linked. Griffons have a fairly high int, and the cha doesn't reflect that. Its a minor inconsistency, but I can understand how its annoying.

Dwarves and half-elves have low and mediocre intelligence accordingly, but both have high charisma.

Deep-elves have extremely high intelligence, but mediocre charisma.

It's a fake argument you are using there.

No, actually, it's an accurate one, but it isn't reflected in the stats of the other races either.

An intellectually challenged child may be charming. Yet not intelligent.

And a genius nerd can be super intelligent, but definitely not charming.

There...

Those examples are both extremes. The special kid may be charming, how? If he can barely talk and be charming, is it because he's charming, or special? And the nerd can be charming, just because he isn't, doesn't mean he does not have the potential to be.

Ok, according to your logic, all creatures have the potential of charisma 25. Well, guess what; they DON'T! :P

No not really, my logic says those with high int should have a higher cha. People like giants and other dumb races should have lower cha.
