I can sympathize with option #3, but I voted for #2 nonetheless. Sure, CRS may have the potential to be fun eventually, but this system that has undergone tweaks and revisions for four years still isn't close to providing fair, balanced raids or whatever it's supposed to be doing. There comes a point when it is better to cut your losses and disengage. There are several reasons for why it isn't fun given the current state of the game.
CRS could be the most brilliant idea to grace the earth since the dawn of time, but that doesn't count for anything if it's impossible fit into the context of SK. The energy required for this serious rework can be spent on more rewarding and fun-producing things.
I can't agree with this because "this time of tweaks and revisions" isn't as long as you'd have people believe. D has said previously that the boycott basically kept the system broken and imbalanced. It wasn't until about...the beginning of January, 2007, that the system got a major test run and turned out to be completely broken.
Of course, D also said to the people whose time and fun was ruined by the brokeness "tough luck, the system was broken, you're guinea pigs and so you have to just accept being screwed," which doesn't exactly encourage people to stick with it either.
The system
could work, given a lot of work. However, the pbase has pretty unanimously said "scrap it, we hate it." I mean, I'm not one to conform to a collective just because it's a collective, but in this case it sort of counts for something, you know?
At any rate, I think it's pretty clear D is married to the CRS, and asking for it to be scrapped is pretty pointless, so instead I'd rather push for something realistically possible. That is, of course, the option to put in the huge amount of work and testing necessary to make it work properly.
