Because anything better is either hoarded or would require me dying several times to get to it. I have a permanent malediction on me that imposes a massive loss of competence to all my characters.

Also, the image of a seven-foot diamond sword makes me drool just a little.

Only in the real world. In pyrathia, you sell it for a couple of gold, maybe a plat or two, and then buy some food with it.
