I'm with the whole let people use what belts they want, regardless of heavy/light armor.

I actually think it would be neat if your belt was just like the rest of your armor. Light armor class? Light armor belt. Makes sense to me.

I know that I would never make a waist-type item anything but a container. I wonder if a change here would suddenly make a whole lot of belt-type containers utterly useless.

Light armor, light belt, makes sense to me.

Waist type items are intended to be used for armor and are included in armor calculations. The "about the body" slot, is intended for containers and is purposefully never counted for armoring purposes. That's why I say this appears to have been an oversight. I probably confused the body slot with the waist slot when originally writing the code. If it is used for armor, it ought to be subject to the armor limitations.

In that case, the <worn about body> slot needs to be fixed too. As a light armor class, I get skill penalties from wearing metal containers in this slot.

Yeah, items worn about the body have caused armor penalties for as long as I've been playing. It'd be pretty great if that was changed. Make sure the helpfile for armor2 gets changed to show that belts aren't exempt from the penalties now, though.

True, it seems that the two slots did appear to be mixed up. I will remove the body slot from being an armor penalty for next reboot.

Although...when you think about it...wouldn't a chainmail coat be a lot heavier than a chainmail belt? It sort of makes more sense the way it is.
