Bingo. And since no one was around to help me out (No Priest) I had to log off and lost my corpse. Also no one wanted to be bothered to go to my corpse so look at how well Breath of Life / Raise Dead helped me there. I don't care about losing my stuff, but losing XP is a harsh blow at higher levels . And having to wait out in the afterlife till one is present that doesn't ignore you is a big waste of time.

I really don't see a problem with making resurrection and gaining life easier in SK. I bet we'd have less disgruntled players.

Perhaps the ability to resurrect, aside from priests, would be something gained at Grand Master status once a certain quest is completed, or maybe I'm just complicating things. It just seems to me that since more often than not we have very few players online and even fewer priests, this would help players out, especially newbies.

Don't make the poor newbies stay dead long! Help them out!

The problem with that is death becomes more of an inconvenience than something serious. I can attest to staying dead waiting for someone..It does suck, but then again it can't be openly available because then death doesn't become something people worry about, as it should be. Balancing the two aspects is pretty difficult, but I say that give another class the ability to resurrect. I'm not sure about shamans, but perhaps maybe sorcerers ? I'm not really sure which class would warrant having it.

Death is already enough of a joke in SK, nothing needs to change here.

If your dumb enough to do something risky when no priests are on then shame on you, I guess death actually meant something.

99% of the time getting life is no big deal, lets not cater to the exception.

Ideas 1,2 and 3 could make things worse. Many roll a priest because of the roleplay. If you give true resurrection to other classes they will be no cross aura and similar style rp from people who need to get the resurrection, so less rp<less priests<more waiting to get a ress (the hellion online won't be able to resurrect your gray/light character, same for paladin). Of course it may be much better but the above scenario is possible. I like the 4th idea.

OR... give those classes a form of resurrection but make it give them a two day attribute diminish, similar to the one suffered to a dying person. That will make it seem more dramatic, and still not cheapen death.


Add on: Make it take 100 percent of their ME and PE too. The idea is that what priest can do naturally, they must do with great travail and even suffer to attain when pulling someone from the river.
