My Question to you Snuffles is this: Why does it make sense that a sorc can charm two GM NPCs and have a pet, or a necro can animate six wraiths and still have a pet but a warlock with an elemental and a pet is ZOMG OVERPOWERED!!!

It doesn't make sense. But hey, you try going around while having two NPCs charmed and not have your mana drop. Whereas an elemental has no concentration cost, plus it's hella buff and can take a beating, plus the buffs mentioned in Jardek's number 1 would take care of any vulnerabilities they had in the past.

Though the lack of damage would still be an issue in my book.

As long as this mud has newb immortals who are putting in hastable, reaching, autofly pets that hit 6 times a round in pet stores - giving warlocks pets is a bad idea.

My only interaction with Dulrik in game in my many years of playing SK has been him swearing at me out of the blue and in all caps telling me he would delete me because he thought I cheated in order to get a pet that was race 'dragon'. He immediately removed dragons from the pet store he found it in, saying they were never intended to be sold to PCs.

Poof - now we have dragons being sold again in a new pet store by an immortal who wants their kingdom to 'be the best lawl'

Warlocks are -rape- if they are third row with a hasted dragon/earth-fire elem. O all bash would kill any warrior, not to mention zapping/casting.

I just want a magma mephit(there I said it) just change that shop's script maybe?

Gilgon - Warlocks already have ways to be 3rd row, any warlock in a tribunal, any warlock that gets his hands on a certain staff, or any warlock in a certain cabal. All I want is my damn resizing pet! Is that so wrong?

Warlocks getting the ability to buy pets would be an extremely powerful buff, one that at the current moment would be the equivalent throwing an entire bucket of paint on top of one mark on a wall.

The only reason this is the case is because currently, pets are too powerful.

Correction: Pets in SHOPS are too powerful. Just thought I'd note that before scouts get yet ANOTHER unwarranted, unreasonable nerf. Also, if dragons can be sold in shops, they should also be able to be tamed.

Warlocks had their option to buy pets taken from them cause warlocks were extremely powerful when they had two pets. Now warlocks aren't as dominant and it probably wouldn't be that big of a deal since magma spray isn't as rape as it used to be.

I'm curious to know what nerfs warlocks have suffered since the time when pets were taken away from them.

- Magma spray DOT changed to increase frequency but decrease damage per hit
- Saving throws split into reflex, fortitude, willpower? (or was this way before pets were taken away from warlocks)
- What else?

I feel like there used to also be more resist elements items out there than there are now, also. What happened to warlocks to make them fall off the charts?

People used to wear magic resistance. They don't anymore. The reason why magma spray used to be an unbelievably powerful spell is that it ignores magic resistance.

Stoneskin's usefulness was dropped dramatically when cleave/backstab/circle/etc. was changed to allow weapons that use magic damage. (subtype change)

Ironguard's usefulness was dropped dramatically after it no longer completely ignored attacks.

Warrior damage has dramatically gone up over the last few months as fury/specialize have been introduced, subtype stats have become well known, and haste has become commonplace in pkill.

The problem with warlocks is that they are the only class in the mud which can't kill equipped players. Two solutions:

1) Transfer warlocks' resists to their elemental.
2) Make every cast of magma spray use double the art that the warlock who cast it has.

Does art help with MP? I thought it was just the reflex/fort/will saves.
