That's incorrect. Any trigger that causes your character to make an action without you personally inputting a command is illegal.

Well, jeez, I abuse the hell out of triggers while leveling lowbies.

Quote a source, please. 'help rules' specifically mentions bots, which means no triggers "while you are away from the keyboard.".

Otherwise, I should be sitebanned for automatically standing when I am awakened by others.

The thread doesn't exist anymore, apparently the forum only saves ones with polls.

I use triggers EVERY TIME I get put in jail for long periods and plan on serving the time, if you actually expect me to sit at the computer for the 20+ hours it can take to serve a jail sentence you can go die in a fire twice. I'm not even joking, go jump in the fire now.

P.S. Yeah, that's botting I'm pretty sure.

That and really, really low leveling(the newbie school), and for standing after a bash/trip, are the only times I use a trigger.

I use tick timers, but I'm present, somewhat. That means I'll reply to tells within five minutes, which is my definition of being 'active'.

Also, since you mentioned getting awakened by people. Why isn't there a room echo when this happens? If you don't do the waking up or aren't the one getting woken up, all you see is one minute someone is asleep and then they're magically awake.

That's faster than a lot of people reply when they're actually playing.

I use triggers to capture information. I use triggers to cause prompts. I use triggers that require commands to start working and shut off after X amount of time. I don't believe that triggers are illegal, per se. What is illegal is the automation of characters while you are doing other things. If I send you a tell and you don't respond for several minutes, you'll likely be put in Hell.

The punishment can be deletion. It has also been punished with losses of levels, loss of gear, and any combination of those two. I would recommend not using triggers unless you are certain you they won't fire if you go AFK. Tick timers are just the same as any other triggers. If you do not respond to a tell in a sensible amount of time, it is likely you will be punished for botting. The severity of the punishment is often related to the magnitude of the infraction.
