 Post subject: Subtypes.

Why are like 75% of the subtypes in the game useless to everyone except NPCs? I was just curious if there were any plans to change this any time soon?

They are not that useless. But when the builders add excessive amounts of elite subtypes, enough for at least half the playerbase to play with them, none is going to use the other types of weapons.

If there was only 1 adam and 1 energy khopesh in SK, do you think everyone would still spec in khopesh? Or, to take as example the battlespear, if there was only 2-3 adam bspears in SK and 1 energy, would anyone spec in battlespear? Especially battlespears, there are way too many in SK and too easy to get them.

The fact that most of the elite scripted weapons are of these elite subtypes makes the gap even bigger.

Of course they would still spec khopesh and battlespear. They can just go get a bunch of tanso steel ones and enchant it to be better than the adamantite.

True. Material type should affect weapon damage. As it is now, it's too easy for random mercs / barbs to get a tanso steel khopesh or other elite type, enchant it to max, and boom. Instant power house.

The subtype is an awesome idea, it just needs to be tweaked so that 2 or 3 weapons does not rule them all. Landsnechts for example is like the master of all reaching weapons, and it's a sword. It excels better at it than Polearms do, and they were designed to reach. Massive accuracy, Massive damage, alright speed. (Still better than just about Every pole arm). Things like that need to be retweaked in their attributes as well taking material into account.

I personally think that the subtypes needs to be respeced. Changes to the elite subtypes to make them more on par with the rest of them would be a start. There are also other subtypes that absolutely blow chunks, and should be upped.

Exactly, my point. I also believe that if you downsized battlespear's and khopesh's damage, I bet many other subtypes will be used.

Also downsize Landksnecht's damage a bit. It's accuracy is already way high for a reaching weapon.
