Dragonscale is an elite new material that is being introduced through the dragon events taking place this weekend.

Apparently a few scouts took a first look at it and turned up their nose. I would normally just smirk and let people take their time in discovering that dragonscale is actually better than mithril in several ways. However, a couple of immortals are taking it pretty hard that the rewards for the events they worked so hard on aren't being appreciated. So I'll just say that dragonscale is not only competitive with mithril for everyone, it is FAR better than mithril for some people.

What makes it unpopular until now, is the fact that only a very small amount of people can access the means to increase its AC to a level where it becomes better than mithril.

Without it, dragonscale is worse than most worthwhile materials, tanso included.

You don't have to worry. I'll take credit for my own opinion. I'm really actually more positive about it than you would believe, its just not everything I imagined it would be. I know what its pluses and minuses are. I can live with it. I could see it wimped. I am sorry you believe me to be any less than GUNG HO enthusiastic.
:drunk:
I am.

I'd take tanso over mithril as well, if I could wear heavy armor. That particular comparison isn't even valid.

Unpopular until now? It was introduced yesterday! Most people haven't even heard of it yet, so I don't quite understand how it can be evaluated as popular or unpopular.

I understand you don't think it is as good as mithril, but just remember that materials are composed of several factors and the compare command only looks at one of them. And no, I'm not even talking about MV.

I don't mind seeing Achernar GUNG HO enthusiastic, it's when he's bored that you're in trouble.

I'd take dragonscale over mithril. Mithril can be mined out, it's no big deal. To get dragonscale is awesome! It comes from an actual dragon. I swear, people are so out to twink for the absolute best, they don't care even a quarter wit about actually playing.

Well, the problem is that compare is the only way we have to figure out if it's worth a damn or not really. So I can see why light armor people without access to GM Magical Vestments put their mithril breastplate right back on after comparing the dragonscale to less AC.

Yeah. If you don't point out the benefits or give players some way to discern the benefits in-game then how would any of us know if it's better or not?
