Did the recent changes improve melee combat speed?
Yes, melee combat is the right pace now. 24%  24%  [ 5 ]
Yes, melee combat is better but still too fast. 38%  38%  [ 8 ]
No, the changes didn't affect combat speed in a desirable way. 10%  10%  [ 2 ]
I haven't played enough since the changes and I shouldn't vote, but I'm going to pick this useless option instead of voting later when I might actually have an opinion worth mentioning. 29%  29%  [ 6 ]

One problem that comes to mind is that one handers now seem even less attractive.

In general I think melee damage should be about 75% what it is now...

Please keep in mind that the low-level game suffers from the opposite problem: melee combat being terribly slow as one whittles down NPCs. Granted, it's more important that high-level combat work. Low-level stuff can always have the XP rate adjusted. But it might be worthwhile to consider enhancing defensive skills, or weakening offensive ones.

Melee damage is not slow in low levels. For casters, it might - but that point is moot. The solution is not for lowlevel priests to hit a zakami into oblivion in a single swing, but rather to give them a viable low-level leveling spell.

For hybrids/other casters, the melee leveling is very decent and wouldn't be much affected by a reduction of 25%.

I found priests pretty easy to level up.

Maces are excellent weapons when it comes to dmg output, accuracy and speed don't matter at all when you lvl up priests.

And you get a great dmg spell if you use it at the right circumstances. And all these until you get SoF, after that priest levelling is REALLY fast, considering the dmg of the spell and it's low casting time/mana cost.

SoF is the stuff for leveling.

Priests get free XP from spamming spells....stfu about needing pole-maces. Rogues -need- daggers, mercs -need- any weapon.

No one ever said you had to fight to level a priest. They are the prime RP class. Go heal people alot.

Melee damage at low levels is actually quite powerful I've found. Anytime I've leveled a melee class recently, I am able to tear through low level NPCs in 3-4 hits easily.

I don't think it's strength. I've played plenty of lowbie griffon clerics well-equipped enough to have 23 STR. Combat is still slow.

Maybe the enhanced damage skill enhances damage a little too much?
