I'd have to say that unless bash/trip are intended to knock the smarts out of your character, actively dazing it, the only reasoning behind "prone" lasting three rounds is that combat is going on, complicating the process of standing up. Can't see a problem with everyone getting to their feet "instantly" when combat is over.

Not much to do with this thread, but is it just me, or is prone duration like massively random?

Perhaps, prone members' action changed to something like:

Bob has fallen and can't seem to get up!

This way, group leaders can do a room scan and see who's down?

It's not random at all, but prone is now tied to the fast affect system. The combat pulses happen quite often, but there is still a slight difference between getting bashed at the very beginning of a pulse versus the very end of a pulse.

Why do you get lagged when trying to enter a command you can't use while prone?

It seemed like a good way to get people to stop and think about what they were doing instead of just spamming commands.

I'd really like to see prone lag end as soon as combat ends as well, at least as far as following goes (return it to the way things used to work with bash). IC rationale can easily be constructed for this (people have done it earlier in the thread) but really it just would make gameplay a lot smoother.
