You can't skin materials you can't tailor/forge anymore.

As of this code change? Previously I was able to skin supernatural hide despite the fact that there was little point to it, since it couldn't be forged into anything.

An idea. Since magical flight now pretty much destroys melee combat, can you remove fly from the beneficial spells the NPCs cast using the AI?

For example...
Quote:
A towering zombie strikes suddenly, whipping at Bill Kourney's chest! Some GUTS fall!
The emissary of the Council starts to concentrate.
A towering zombie strikes suddenly, whipping at Bill Kourney's chest! Some GUTS fall!
Bill Kourney's shield blocks a towering zombie's attack.
Bill Kourney parries a towering zombie's attack.
A towering zombie strikes suddenly, whipping at Bill Kourney's chest! Some GUTS fall!
Bill Kourney slashes a towering zombie's left ankle, cutting a small wound.
Bill Kourney slashes a towering zombie's forehead, causing a small wound.

[HP:100%] [ME: 93%] [PE:100%] R: A large mountainside clearing
>

The emissary of the Council utters the words, 'yrl'.
A towering zombie floats a few feet in the air.

A towering zombie whips Bill Kourney's stomach, cutting a deep gash.

That's not much of a buff, right? Why would anyone cast fly on a landed warrior ally during melee combat? I'd much rather take a trip and have better accuracy and a chance for dirt kicks than getting screwed over.

You are exaggerating.

It's not a buff anyway. Also I don't play a warrior to know how much fly screws warriors, but considering pretty much everyone fights w/out magical flight it must be quite some difference.

Fly shouldn't be cast from NPC AI as it is now.

How about casting it on enemies instead? Now that's an interesting AI trick. :P

I concur, flight may need to be tweaked slightly in its usefulness as a self cast spell in NPC AI.

God damn D-A. What exactly do you even play SK for? I don't see how sitting around doing absolutely nothing and whining 24/7 could possibly be fun.

Flying is still a buff, it stops trip. And what are you D-A, an idiot? You get minus accuracy while prone too. Oh wait, you never ever engage in combat with something isn't controlled by AI, so I guess you don't really know how combat works, do you?

Trip can be saved with a check and is timed, magical flight is a 24/7 penalty.

I also don't see your centaur barb flying in your PKs. Why? Don't you like buffs?

My what, whopping handful of pk fights? Well, on second thought, I guess that can be used as an example, probably more than your priest has been involved in. >_>

My sprite swashie was flying -all the time-.

Sprites and griffons suffer no penalties from natural flight.
