Now, I would not mind all of these varying slightly from each kingdom, but I believe most all of us are simply annoyed at jail time, now, say you have a big shot, like Benjamin, thats in a tribunal, we can also add a maaaaaaaaaaaaasssssssssssssssssssveeeeeeeeeeeee RP system, to where if you DO SO BELONG TO A TRIBUNAL OR A CABAL, that For EAAAAAAAAAAAACH crime you commit that DOES IN FACT relate to monatary confinscation, that an platinum PER CRIME, comes out of the TRIUBNAL OR CABAL coffers, of SAID PC, therefore, wtfpwning withdrawing money from your account and putting it somewhere while you serve your time(to an extent), and you also get your leaders RPing with you for a wtf manner, you can look at this in TWO ways.

1.) If your personal coffers cannot pay for it, the law will send a bill to your tribunals.
2.) If you are trying to cheat another system out of its well deserved monies, you are getting owned.

This is actually a pretty good idea. I'd say bump it up to 5 platinum per crime though. If you've got a hundred crimes(THIS IS A LOT), that's still only what, 50 obsidian? Can't tribunals and stuff hold like 250?

Edit: Well, maybe not 5 platinum, but it needs to be more than 1. For 100 crimes, that'd only be 10 obsidian. I can make 10 obsidian in like 15 minutes. =/

P.S. Cannibal's idea was pretty good too.

I don't like this drive to reduce law penalties to nothing more than a slap on the wrist. Sure, it supports the play style that seems to equate playing the game to constant PK, but there's more to SK than fighting endless wars and racking up crime lists (or so I hope, at least).

Jail time is supposed to be annoying. It's supposed to be boring enough to motivate you to RP for pardon or parole, maybe even throwing in some character development in the mix, instead of jumping right back into the fray like nothing happened once you're free.

If anything, I'd make it HARDER to break out of jail to see more RP and bargains (and maybe truces, OMG) come out of being captured. :P Having to sit out your sentence if you don't feel like bargaining sounds pretty fair to me.

P.S. I do think the law system needs work in other areas. Make attempted murder and attempted mugging on tribunal members reportable again plz.

I don't like the idea of their being universal laws for all kingdoms in pyrathia with universal punishments. Different laws, customs, and culture and flavour to the kingdoms.

Uh, Peso. Krychire/Empire amputate. Nobody else does AFAIK. And Zhenshi doesn't do anything except confiscate/jail.

Back in the day, I've tried to RP the lifting of a banishment towards my necro in Taslamar. That included infinite number of deals, compromises, RP, cease of fire, promises etc etc etc. I literally tried E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G with every leader at that time.

After gathering 47 logs (Duration 15-45 minutes of RP each) and a cease of fire from my behalf for 70 IC years...I think I've clearly proven that such an RP cannot be completed under normal circumstances.

This was nothing but a honest efford to see what it takes to get a pardon and I would do ANYTHING to achieve it. (The best deal I was offered by some leader of Taslamar was to assasinate another paladin for a shield or something)

At the end though, I've failed...Rp failed.

I thought you did eventually worm your way into a pardon?
