At least one newbie school has undead NPCs.

That only works if you can get there and I doubt you can if you are good aligned.

I only see the need for second attack to be learned earlier. By the time a priest gets it, there really is little point in them having it. There are already two spells to use that are worth the loss of attack by spamming them. And soon after, harm.

Maybe there's another way to improve clerical levelling, that also solves another problem.

It's been complained before that maces, flails, and staves are too weak to serve as weapons for warriors. I'm sure that's intentional, since otherwise there's little point in weapon restrictions. But we could address both issues by boosting these lesser weapon types a bit. Throw in axe to keep the shamans in parity, and maybe there's a worthwhile change to consider.

I'm no where near a twink, but I've never had any problem leveling any of my priests. And I've played gnome, halfling, human, and deep-elf priests of varying aura. I've had as low as 10 charisma. I never leveled off of undead. I did it all without pole-maces as well.

As someone said before in this thread: you can't expect them to level like a fighter. They may level slow to j-man, but after that you level at an insane pace.

Get a mace and a shield, get strength/con mods, get a bashing pet. Find opposite aura NPCs. Frenzy yourself, stand next to your pet, order it to start combat against an ungrouped NPC with a bash, hit it with your mace until it's dead. Use cure light on yourself/pet when needed. Wash, rinse, repeat.

It may be boring, but all leveling is boring.
