Maybe I misunderstood and you already said this but perhaps for certain classes i.e. priest/hellion/pally when they profess they can use the abilities that need a deity to use. Because I wouldn't want to be a hellion running around just trying to kill things with my sword, or a priest running around bashing things on the head with a mace.

I think it's really, really funny when people get into the habit of saying or typing "aye" IRL.

Uhm, cause light is a fantastic leveling spell. On my last hellion, the only other spell I used was blindness. Never bothered with the rest while grinding, because of the mana drain.

Hellions are one of the easiest classes to level. It's basically a merc, with access to what seems to be the toughest store-bought pet in the game. =/

The only problem with that is the event in which the HF is/becomes inactive and then the player is effectively stuck. I'd prefer a bit of wiggle room - with the understanding if they 'hop pre-investment' that HF is GOING to know, and there may be consequences.

I'm not sure which way I'd prefer it. Maybe a bit of both. HF with the ability to reject a professing, seeker with ability to 'move on' knowing (that if the HF/imms care) they can start up some RP because of it... or if there's no means for a seeker to undo the professing independently, a good staff enforcement of following up. After all the point of the command is to draw attention to the seekers so they don't fall in the cracks in the first place.

Save hellions. Apparently they don't need patron gods, especially those Yenko hellions. *DUCKS*

Or you could just, you know, do it the old fashioned way.

Take a minute to grab a pen and paper, write something up, and post it on the astral boards. Simple as that. If it's simply impossible to meet face to face, then an interview can be conducted via the noteboard system.

And if you're chicken about anyone seeing what it is you're talking about in your note, you're in luck because (*gasp*) you can direct the notes to specific people and no one else can read them! Wow! Cool, right?

Not everyone reads them boards *shrugs*
Its sometimes like up to 2 months before i see a message because I barely use it.

I stopped reading the astral boards a long time ago. 98% of the notes either mean absolutely nothing, or are completely stupid. I love when people take their arguments to the astral board. Apparently they don't realize nobody cares. =/

So -

Seems there is some basic agreement that something like this would be beneficial without automating the investment process. It aleves some of the potential delaying that HF/staff would know that there's a seeker out there & potentially color/make things interesting if a player decided after professing they didn't actually want to join the church.

Has the staff had any time to consider this in light of the Pantheon forum discussion which had also sprung up of seeker's frustrations getting invested?

Is further imput needed?
