I did bug log this as well, but in case anyone wanted more info, or if it's happening to anyone else I thought I'd put it here too.

A few days ago while in Seawatch after being in a no magic area my sorc could no longer cast any spells without getting the You can't concentrate enough message. I was not wearing heavy armor, released all spells and had no other affects. log off and back in seemed to fix it at the time.

Today, in the Crossroads Inn I blew through 2 mana pools worth of spells and had every single one fail. Gate Summon, Shrink, didn't seem to matter, all failures. Again, no armor, no affects and had released all spells. Logged off came back a few hours later and things seem to work again.

Probably unrelated, I've also had serious issues with pets on this character, couldn't get the pet to follow, would follow for a while then stop, and sometimes it would just not be there when I would log in, and it did it over 3 different pets, from 3 different stores in three different areas.

So, I'm thinking I either have a sorc that is an epic failure, or the character is maybe getting corrupted?

It's a bug with no magic rooms. Just log off and back in any time this happens and it'll be fixed.

The concentration bug has been one of the longest-running bugs in the history of the game. It's more than likely got multiple causes, all stemming from a spell that doesn't "give back" your concentration when it ceases to exist. Maybe no-magic rooms are one cause of it.

Failing all your spells is a weird one. I know when I played a priest/sorc, my non-mastered spells failed a LOT more often if I was spirit disoriented or the like, and although there are affects in the game that can reduce your spellcasting chance, 2 mana pools of spells is pretty hefty. Hopefully you were just really really unlucky and that won't happen again.

As far as the pets issue: If you disband your group, your pet will stop following you, but you can still mount him. That's a strange one. If your pet is prone (Missed a bash or trip, or got bashed or tripped) he will not stop following you, but he won't move if you move before he regains his footing. If you enter an area he cannot enter (IE: Fly-only area and he isn't flying, water area and he fails his swim check) he can get left behind, or if you're in a river and he gets carried away by current, he'll get left behind.

I've also heard that if you log off with a charmie in the room and also a pet, then your pet will be gone when you log back in. That might be another source of your trouble.

The only thing that I can't completely understand is the failing of all your spells. Hopefully that won't happen again.

I can relate to the missing pet issue. Over the last week I have lost the wolf almost every time I logged out. In every case, the wolf was in my group in the same room with me when I quit. It has become almost a joke to see if I will have the wolf or not each time I log in. Considering the amount of money I have spent on wolves, I am pretty sure it is a pet shop conspiracy...

The pet thing has always been buy the pet, walk down the street sometimes it follows, sometimes it didn't. If I was in a group with others...same thing it would follow for a bit and then stop. I do nothing fancy with them, I don't have them long enough on this character. Literally 15 minutes, 30 tops is about all I've been able to stand.

I even tried buy the pet, save, walk a bit, sit behind the thing, spam spells a bit, log off and on login pet was gone. There has not been a good reason for it to happen, as there was nothing interesting going on with the pet other than movement from point A to point B and adjusting it's position in a group.

I can understand the frustration of failing spells.

I have a priestess, she's ancient. Without doing the math, I'm going to assume she's hit 3/4 tick by now. It seems like something changed, because while INT and WIS go up with age, her failures with spells, even mastered ones, is just outstanding. Which makes me wonder what is going on at times.

I find it a bit humorous that as a GM with gate superb or mastered, she has to turn off auto summon to gate to a NPC. Yes, a NPC. She has on the proper attire for her class/faith, yet she fails almost every time trying to gate and it can be random places.

You aren't the only one having this issue. You should see the mess with brew. Brew is mastered, most of the spells are mastered or superb and I had far more failures than success. I think there was a time where it was 10% success rate.

Hmm... I wonder if something has affected and conflicted with the pets' inventory by accident. Did any of you try to 'o all drop all'? I remember when they first changed the code so that pets could have no inventory, pets that had been forgotten to be made to re-spawn with no items would not move/follow because they had coins/stuff in their inventory. An 'o all drop all' solved the issue back then.

Ok, I am glad I am not the only one with this happening... I was trying to gate this morning and must have failed 15 times before giving up. and yes I was trying to get to a portal stone. odd when you have gate mastered.

Perhaps you were in a no transport room? One of the rooms that doesn't allow gates, summon and teleport?
