She does kind of have a valid point there. Attacking from the shadows and attacking from behind are pretty much in the same category.

I guess stealing is so much worse than murder that it stops people from being principled/aberrant. But...there are plenty of ways for steal to be used for "the greater good" or whatever.

I really wish you'd rethink this Dulrik. Ever heard of black ops? People who sneak into enemy territory to spy on meetings, get into places they shouldn't? It's perfectly valid for a rogue to only use his "dishonourable" or "unlawful" skills only on his enemies (Otherwise every paladin who attacks Krychire is under scrutiny as well.)

I could not disagree more, for the following reason: Your skills don't dictate your RP, your RP dictates how you use your skills. Rogues are a useful asset to most groups, both in exploring and PK: Having someone in a tribunal that can keep an eye on people's inventory, (Making sure they aren't carrying weapons somewhere they shouldn't, or holding the corpse of an ally or friend) that can reach the back row with their circle stabs/backstabs to defend against sorcerers, necromancers and the like, is very useful. As a principled rogue, If I saw someone carrying coin around in their inventory, even if it was a dark-hearted person, I would advise them to put it away before even thinking about stealing it (Even in Teron).

Same for aberrant rogues. Look at the aberrant helpfile.

There's nothing in there about following the law, so apparently the only problem you have with aberrant rogues is their ability to attack from the shadows, so I'll reiterate my previous point: Hellions and rogues have nearly the exact same skillset, only rogues more often instantly kill people.

You should really re-think your decision Dulrik: I'm not trying to do this for any twink reason (although some -may- exist). The message that you're sending with this is that you think our ability to RP beyond more than just a skillset, or a cookie-cutter character, sucks.

Skills do not dictate RP, RP dictates how you use your skills.

What "twink" reasons could there possibly be? Your specific alignment doesn't matter except for RP. You're either light, dark, or gray.

If you can be light aura, you should be able to be all of them, same for dark/gray. Also, the whole thing with ZOMG Minotaurs and sprites can't be x or y alignments! Dulrik, really, it's [REDACTED]. You're basically telling everyone that is a sprite or minotaur that they have to hate rules/wtfever.

There is no honor in stabbing your opponent in the back, unchallenged.

The intent behing a rogue's fighting style is to gain the advantage by doing things in which honor is not a concern.

While a rogue may be doing these actions for the greater good (intent) and their loyalty/service is to country, etc, the choice (profession) of choosing was not one of honor itself.

Thusly, a rogue can serve a principled/aberrant society, but they are not such themselves.

A similar thought comes back to haunt me. Long as rogues shouldn't be principled alignments, and that is leading princpled organizations. The one time that I'm aware that it happened, it was reviewed by staff the same week and adjustements were made. It would have been interesting if the RP was allowed to progress naturally but at the same time if 'it shouldn't have happened,' it may have saved a bit of annoyance on the player's end.

Stands to reason, I hope the sentiment still stands. Makes sense if the class can't be principled alignments, it shouldn't be allowed to lead principled alignment groups.

Not too different from the forever rule about that particular fighter class not being able to even gain admittance into that particular organization.
