I find it stupid writing your own reputation. For example you could see in the who list:

[---]Warrior 1
[---]Warrior 2
[---]Warrior 3

Typing 'reputation warrior 1" you could get this feedback:

'Warrior 1 is the best warrior of Pyrathia, blah blah..."

Then typing "reputation warrior2" you could get:

'Warrior 2 is the best warrior of Pyrathia, blah blah..."

Well, now you must know very well why I wrote this:

Obviously it would have to be policed by the imms for absurdities, but I don't think that would be a terrible burden.

Boy, did I have you covered! A note in the helpfile about an objective rather than subjective response would clear this up (unless you think you're too childish to handle it).

As for your point, juggs, I don't know. I think if you were limited to alterations within the first couple of years of a character's life, you'd be preventing yourself from growing as a character, and thus limited to essentially writing a history. I'd rather see something fluid that can change with the times.

I'd rather RP my history out than via some 'reputation' command.
The game has one reputation line as it is. It is your title.

The game other means to spread another's reputation (or your own). The note boards, RP conversations, a bard's song/play/etc. Or simply sharing conversations with others and asking. And from the who list, you have your 'conversation piece.'

*shrugs*

Lol. You know very well that policing such stuff works far than perfectly. Descriptions are supposed to have certain rules too. I know a certain halfling was wandering for ever (if he is not yet out there) with a description that included 2 big horns on his head, demonic wings and other stuff that I don't remember. I think you are the childish one here believing that all the players will follow the helpfile. Come on. You are the first one to break the rules to convince the imms to change something (see adjective changes). Even if I don't care about the ones who just break the rules, there are half wrong things out there that cannot be deleted or modified by the imms. Same thing would happen with the reputation files.

Edit: Ok correction, I got a pm. It was a 44 feet halfling, with two ram horns and 4 hands. No joking now, I'd pay to read his reputation file. :D

This idea reminds me of the "Bardic knowledge skill"
